Over the years I have worked with and used many different makeup ranges and quite by chance I discovered Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics. I was sitting at my Mum's dressing table having a nose through her makeup bag, as I often do when I'm visiting, and I picked up what looked like a face powder. I didn't recognise the name or the packaging so of course I was curious.
My mother got very excited and explained that this was a 'four-in-one' product and it was fabulous. She discovered it at a health farm. I tried this "fabulous" powder and was instantly impressed. I then wanted to know more about the makeup and very quickly bought it for my own use.
That was 13 years ago and to be frank, in my opinion this makeup range is far superior to any other range I have used. There are a lot of great cosmetic companies around for which I can always argue the pros and cons, but I haven't been able to find anything other than pros with this makeup. There are so many benefits in using this range of products but most importantly it is good to your skin, it is so easy to use and extremely versatile. Made from micronised minerals, it doesn't contain perfumes, chemical dyes or preservatives.
Choosing someone to advise you and/or apply your makeup is a very personal thing. How do you find the ideal person for you? A fancy website and a few words doesn't really tell you much so I usually suggest a chat on the telephone at the very least, or if time permits, meeting up over coffee with absolutely no obligation at all. Ask around, talk to other suppliers, ask for recommendations, look at testimonials. Personal recommendations are generally the most helpful. The most important thing is that you feel completely comfortable with your makeup artist because having your makeup applied is a very personal experience.
